Three exec producers fired from Ellen DeGeneres talkshow

Three senior staffers on The Ellen DeGeneres Show are sacked amid the show's ongoing workplace controversy.

Three top producers on The Ellen DeGeneres Show have been fired as part of the ongoing investigations into the show's workplace culture.

The long-running series has spent the summer mired in controversy, with accusations of behind-the-scenes toxicity alongside more serious allegations of sexual misconduct on the part of several senior executives.

Warner Bros has now confirmed its decision to 'part ways' with executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman, with the show's staff having been informed of the development by DeGeneres herself via a video call.

According to Variety, the 62-year-old said that the revelations in recent months had been "heartbreaking" for her to hear and vowed to meet with staff in small groups after the pandemic has passed, even going so far as to admit that she is "not perfect".

As part of the production shakeup, the show's resident DJ Stephen 'tWitch' Boss has been promoted to co-executive producer.

The talker is currently on summer hiatus but will return to the air on Monday, September 14, one week later than originally planned.
