The Queen to address the nation on Sunday

Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen will address the nation in a televised broadcast on Sunday.

Buckingham Palace have announced that The Queen will address the nation in a televised broadcast on Sunday.

The long-serving monarch has already recorded the message at Windsor Castle, where she is isolating with Prince Philip amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, the Palace said: "Her Majesty The Queen has recorded a special broadcast to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in relation to the Coronavirus outbreak.

"The televised address will be broadcast at 8pm on Sunday 5th April."

The news comes after latest figures revealed that Thursday was the UK's deadliest day so far in the fight against COVID-19, with 684 new deaths taking the total to 3,605.
