Piers Morgan's interview with Matt Hancock sparks Ofcom complaints

TV regulator Ofcom reportedly receives 47 complaints over Piers Morgan's interview with Matt Hancock on Good Morning Britain.

TV regulator Ofcom has reportedly received 47 complaints over a tense interview between Piers Morgan and health secretary Matt Hancock on Monday's Good Morning Britain.

Morgan has been highly critical of the government's response to the coronavirus outbreak in recent weeks, accusing them of acting too late in shutting down public movement and not testing enough people for the deadly disease.

During a 25-minute interview with Hancock, Morgan repeatedly challenged Hancock on why Prime Minister Boris Johnson - at the time - had not ordered an official lockdown.

At one point Morgan accused Hancock of shaking his head at him, saying: "I know you're finding this irritating or whatever it is that's making you shake your head."

Hancock then admitted that he was 'frustrated' that Morgan kept interrupting his answers as he attempted to explain the government's strategy in dealing with the pandemic.
