MTV schedules farewell programming for axed channels

MTV schedules farewell shows to mark the closure of Club MTV, MTV Rocks and MTV OMG.

MTV OMG, Club MTV and MTV Rocks will bow out in the early hours of Monday morning with special farewell programming.

As we revealed earlier this week, the broadcaster is closing the three channels next week in order to streamline its portfolio.

In the hours before the closures, the most iconic tracks from each channel's genre of music will play out as a goodbye to viewers.

Club MTV - formerly MTV Dance - will end 19 years on the air with a programme called Club MTV: The Last Dance, airing between midnight and 4am on Monday.

MTV Rocks will go out with a playlist of rock and alternative hits in MTV Rocks: Thanks Fr Th Mmrs - a reference to the Fall Out Boy song of the same name - between midnight and 4am.

MTV OMG will be the last of the channels to fall with OMG! It's Goodbye!, airing between 4am and 6am on Monday morning.
