Mary Berry to present new BBC cookery series

Mary Berry will share some of her favourite comfort food recipes in a new BBC Two cookery series.

The BBC has announced a new cookery series starring Mary Berry for BBC Two, Mary Berry's Simple Comforts.

The six-part series will see the former Bake Off judge share her favourite "fuss-free recipes that can warm the cockles and lift the spirits".

Catherine Catton, the BBC's head of factent commissioning, said: "Now, more than ever, home cooking is central to daily life and Mary Berry's take on comfort food is exactly what we all need."

The show completed filming in January, months before the coronavirus lockdown kicked in, and will be shown later this year.

The 85-year-old will also release an accompanying book of the same name through BBC Books.
