Harry Hill lands new BBC Two TV Burp-style show

The BBC commissions Harry Hill to produce a new TV-based clip show for BBC Two.

Harry Hill is to front a new TV-themed show for the BBC, eight years after his TV Burp show ended on ITV.

The comedian's new six-part series, Harry Hill's World of TV, will take viewers on a journey through six different genres of TV using archive clips from the most memorable shows.

Among the topics being covered are soaps, medical dramas, police dramas, home improvement shows, historical documentaries and cookery programmes.

"It's about time someone blew the whistle on how these TV shows are put together and it looks like I'm the man for the job," said Hill. "Watching TV will never be the same again!

"I predict this series of programmes will be required viewing for all students of TV. We're talking TV landmark... jus' sayin'."

The series is being produced during lockdown and will air on BBC Two later this year.
