Gogglebox to return for new series in September

Gogglebox will return to Channel 4 after a four-month break in September, it is confirmed.

Gogglebox executive producer Tania Alexander has confirmed that the show will return for a new run in September.

The most recent series ended in May, with the celebrity spinoff taking over its Friday night slot since.

Celebrity Gogglebox came to an end last week and Alexander revealed that the production team will now take a break for the summer.

"Huge THANK YOU for your kind messages re #Gogglebox and #CelebrityGogglebox," she wrote on Twitter.

"It really wasn't easy getting this show to air every week during lockdown but ur support made it ALL worth it.

"Big shout out to the cast from both shows AND my amazing team. See y'all on Sept 11th"

The lineup for the new series has yet to be confirmed, and it remains unclear whether popular duo Mary and Marina will be allowed back onto the show after being dropped due to coronavirus concerns.
