Celebs Go Dating's love guru 'had row with Joey Essex'

Celebs Go Dating expert Paul Carrick Brunson reportedly got involved in an off-air "cultural appropriation" row with Joey Essex during the last series.

Celebs Go Dating's resident expert Paul Carrick Brunson reportedly got involved in an off-air row with Joey Essex during filming of the latest series.

Last week Brunson posted a lengthy update on his LinkedIn account in which he detailed how difficult filming the show was, as he was required to be away from his family in the US for seven weeks, while also revealing that he had "an off camera verbal altercation" with an unnamed celeb.

According to The Sun, in scenes not broadcast on the show Brunson pulled up late entrant Essex, 30, for using the phrase "fo sho'", slang for "for sure".

"It's fair to say that Paul didn't gel with Joey as well as the other contestants - not because of any personal animosity, but because Paul thought Joey wasn't taking the experiment seriously," a source told the newspaper.

"By his own admission, Paul was finding the show difficult and was already uncomfortable prior to Joey's entrance with being constantly referred to as P-Dawg.

"At one point Joey misused some slang in front of Paul, who took him aside to explain why it could be seen as inappropriate.

"Joey began to panic about whether this would play a part in the show and what it could mean for him.

"He meant absolutely no offence and became agitated about the prospect of being painted as something he's not. The fraught atmosphere led to the bigger confrontation Paul referenced online.

"The pair agreed to draw a line under the incident and move on."

The series came to a conclusion on E4 last week with Essex leaving the show still single.
