Production on the new series of Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The reality show, which dumps celebrities on a remote island and leaves them to fend for themselves, was due to start filming next month but has now been postponed as the killer disease spreads across the globe.
A source told The Sun: "The celebrities are gutted over the decision as they were set to begin filming abroad next month. It's really disappointing. It's a challenge of a lifetime, but they understand it's not worth the risk."
A Channel 4 spokesperson confirmed: "Due to the current restrictions on travel the new series of Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls will be postponed. We've made this decision with the health and well-being of those involved in making the show as our utmost priority."
Channel 4 has also confirmed that filming on the next series of The Great British Bake Off has been delayed due to COVID-19, which has claimed almost 29,000 lives worldwide so far.Follow us on Twitter @SMEntsFeed and like us on Facebook for the latest entertainment news alerts.
