BBC 'in advanced talks for second series of The Wheel'

The BBC is reportedly close to signing a deal for a second series of The Wheel.

The BBC is reportedly close to agreeing a deal for a second series of Michael McIntyre's The Wheel.

The gameshow, which features a group of celebrities being spun around on a giant wheel and answering quiz questions, debuted at the end of last month on BBC One and has a 10-episode order for its first series.

Over the first few weeks the show has averaged more than 5 million viewers, making it one of the broadcaster's most popular programmes.

"The top brass at the Beeb absolutely love this show. They have been amazed by the reaction it has been getting from viewers," a source told the Daily Star.

"After some discussions, everyone agreed they want more. Ordering another series is a no-brainer.

"Everything is in place for it to be signed and sealed, it is just a case of ticking some boxes and getting signatures."

The show will also air as part of BBC One's Christmas Day schedule.
