Amanda Holden 'to host new dating show for BBC'

Amanda Holden reportedly signs up to host a new Blind Date-style dating show for the BBC.

Amanda Holden has reportedly signed up to host a new primetime dating show for BBC One.

The BBC is hopeful that the format, which will see women reject potential suitors by ejecting them through a trapdoor, can emulate the success of Cilla Black's Blind Date.

"Execs are thrilled to have Amanda on board. She is perfect for a dating show because she has a great sense of humour," a source told the Daily Star.

"Everyone working on the show thinks she has the potential to be just like Cilla was years ago on Blind Date. There's a lot of excitement about this.

"This show won't take itself too seriously. It will be a good laugh.

"Producers want it to be perfect light entertainment the whole family can watch together."

Britain's Got Talent judge Holden is also due to appear on the BBC's new reality contest I Can See Your Voice, which is due to air from next month.
