Xavier Molyneux takes over the role of Byron Stone in Amazon's upcoming revival of Neighbours.

Xavier Molyneux is taking over the role of Byron Stone in the upcoming revival of Neighbours, it has been announced.

The character - the male escort son of Jane (Annie Jones) - appeared in a handful of episodes last year shortly before the soap's axe, with Joe Klocek in the role.

Now it has been confirmed that Byron will be back but now played by Molyneux, who previously appeared as a contestant on Big Brother Australia in 2020.

Announcing the casting, the official Neighbours Instagram wrote: "We're very excited to announce that Xavier Molyneux will be taking on the role of Byron Stone.

"The son of Jane Harris, Byron will be thrust into the heart of the Ramsay Street drama when Neighbours returns this September."

Neighbours returns via Freevee in the UK this September.
