Promising Young Woman heads direct to Sky Cinema
Sky Cinema announces that it will premiere the Oscar-nominated Promising Young Woman for customers next month.

Sky Cinema has secured a deal to premiere Oscar contender Promising Young Woman for its customers next month.

The black comedy - written and directed by Emerald Fennell - stars Carey Mulligan as a woman with a vengeful double life which comes out at night.

The movie is up for five awards at the Oscars, including Best Director, Best Picture and Best Actress, and also has six nominations at the BAFTAs.

With cinemas in the UK still shuttered due to coronavirus, Sky has now secured the rights to release the film on Sky Cinema from Friday, April 16 - a week before the Academy Awards are held.

Sky Cinema director Sarah Wright said: "Promising Young Woman is an outstanding debut by a very exciting filmmaker, deservedly receiving plaudits across the industry and we can't wait to share it exclusively with Sky Cinema customers."

In recent weeks Sky has also premiered the four-hour Zack Snyder cut of Justice League and the Oscar-nominated The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
