The final of MasterChef 2021 will air on Wednesday night after being postponed due to the death of Prince Philip.

The final episode of this year's MasterChef will now air on Wednesday night, it has been confirmed.

The 2021 winner was due to be crowned on Friday but the broadcast was postponed following the death of Prince Philip as BBC One instead turned over its schedule to rolling news coverage.

Now the channel has confirmed that the episode will be shown from 8pm on Wednesday night.

The cookery contest will air in place of The Repair Shop, which was due to begin its eighth series in the slot but is now being delayed by a week.

The final will see either Mike Tomkins, Tom Rhodes or Alexina Anatole crowned MasterChef champion 2021.
