Nigel Farage confirms rumours that he is considering appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Nigel Farage has confirmed rumours that he is considering an offer to appear on this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The 59-year-old - former leader of UKIP and the Brexit Party - was a key figure in the campaign for the UK to leave the EU and has now become a successful broadcaster with a weeknightly show on GB News.

Last weekend it was reported that he had been offered around £1 million by ITV to fly to Australia to take part in the reality show, which starts later this month.

Addressing the story on his GB News show, Farage said: "Several times since 2016 I've had I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! from ITV saying to me 'come into the jungle'.

"And they've always offered me really quite substantial sums of money to do so, and I have always thought 'no, it's probably not the right thing for me to do'."

"Unlike previous years, I am giving it very, very serious consideration," he continued. "Why? I tell you what - you have got about 10 million young people who watch that programme. These are people that may not watch the news or read the newspapers but they still care about the country they live in and about their futures.

"And actually, in many ways, the futures of young people in Britain had been blighted. They haven't got the same opportunities that their parents and grandparents had and they'd love to look for solutions.

"So in my mind, if I was to do it, I might be able to connect with that audience because goodness me they all watch I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!"

Farage added that he "hasn't absolutely made my mind up" but would come to a final decision shortly.

Other celebs rumoured for this year's show include Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, rugby player Danny Cipriani, jockey Frankie Dettori and Drag Race winner The Vivienne.
