I'm A Celebrity 'to be set in North Wales'

This year's UK-based edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! will reportedly be set in North Wales.

This year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! will reportedly be set somewhere in North Wales.

ITV announced on Friday that due to the ongoing problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the show is relocating from the heat of the Australian jungle to a ruined castle somewhere in the UK.

According to The Sun, producers have now settled on North Wales as the location for the new series, with wintry conditions expected as the show begins in November.

Snowdonia National Park, which covers an area of more than 800 square miles, would appear to fit the bill - with a possible venue being Castell y Bere, a 13th-century castle on the southern outskirts of the park.

Rather than a King or Queen of the Jungle being crowned at the end of the series, celebrities will instead compete to become the show's first ever King or Queen of the Castle.

Challenges will be reworked to fit in with the local surroundings, with kangaroo's anus likely to be replaced with delicacies such as sheep genitals in the notorious eating contest - and medieval history expected to play a big part throughout.

Although moving the show to the UK may tempt more celebrities to take part, one of the biggest headaches is likely to be felt behind the scenes, with producers requiring a fast-turnaround, same-day edit in time for the evening live shows.
