Rachel Adedeji slams co-star as "actual trash"

Rachel Adedeji brands Hollyoaks co-star Lysette Anthony "actual trash" after a leak of WhatsApp messages on social media.

Rachel Adedeji has branded her Hollyoaks co-star Lysette Anthony "actual trash" following the leak of private messages on social media.

The news comes days after Adedeji alleged experiences of racism behind-the-scenes on the Channel 4 soap, claiming that a senior member of the production team had referred to black cast members as "blackies".

The 28-year-old had already made the decision to quit the soap and filmed her final scenes before the allegations emerged, with production company Lime Pictures launching a full investigation in the wake of her comments.

Charlie Clapham, a former actor on the show, shared screenshots of a WhatsApp exchange involving Anthony, 56, who wrote of Adedeji and another unknown co-star: "Well, to be fair they both have that embittered, traitor vibe going on. Sorry but we're not going to have a job to come back to if this stuff keeps being disseminated."

Adedeji replied to Clapham's post with the message: "@chezLysette you are actual trash.. Charlie, you are a King and a true ally!! Love you my bro! X x."

Anthony, who has played the part of Marnie since 2016, appears to have since deleted her Twitter account.
