Isaak selected to represent Germany at Eurovision 2024
Isaak wins the race to represent Germany at this year's Eurovision Song contest.

Isaak has won the race to represent Germany at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The 28-year-old hails from the small town of Espelkamp near Hannover and previously appeared on the local version of The X Factor.

Nine acts competed in the finale, with the result determined by a combination of 50% public votes and 50% from the eight international juries: Switzerland, Croatia, Spain, Lithuania, the United Kingdom - represented by Katrina Leskanich of Katrina and the Waves - Iceland, Austria and Sweden.

Isaak and his song 'Always On The Run' - a powerful Rag'n'Bone Man-style pop track - topped both the jury vote, with 74 points, as well as the public vote, with a 'douze points'.

As Germany is one of the so-called 'Big Five' countries, Isaak will not have to navigate a semi-final in order to progress to the grand final, which is due to take place on May 11 in Malmo, Sweden.
