Samantha Giles confirms her exit from Emmerdale after 25 years playing Bernice Blackstock.

Samantha Giles has confirmed speculation that she will be leaving Emmerdale next month.

The actress has played Bernice Blackstock in the Dales on and off for the last 25 years but has now decided to call time on the character for the time being.

Giles addressed the issue while appearing on This Morning to discuss her upcoming panto role as the Wicked Stepmother in a new production of Cinderella.

"I haven't been able to kind of confirm it, really, until now. I am going," she said. "I think my last episode is 14th November, the final episode."

Details of Bernice's exit plot have yet to be revealed, although the door is expected to be left open for a future return.
