Danny Miller insists that he left his role as Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale at the right time.

Danny Miller has insisted that he made the right decision to leave Emmerdale last year, suggesting that his character Aaron Dingle had become "a bit tired".

Aaron exited the Dales in emotional scenes in December following the murder of his boyfriend Ben (Simon Lennon) - a crime his half-sister Liv (Isobel Steele) was wrongly imprisoned for.

Miller, who had played Aaron since 2008, went straight from filming the soap to appearing on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, which he went on to win.

"I have no regrets [about leaving Emmerdale],"he told OK! magazine. "It's all been worth it and there are things in the pipeline."

He added: "I think it was time for a bit of a change and I'm not sure if the character was a bit tired.

"There wasn't a massive amount happening with him and that didn't look like it was going to change, so it seemed like a good a time to try something different with my career."

Emmerdale continues weeknights on ITV.
