Robert Pattinson back filming The Batman after overcoming coronavirus

Robert Pattinson returns to work on The Batman after two weeks off with coronavirus.

Robert Pattinson returned to work on The Batman today following a two-week enforced break due to coronavirus.

The 34-year-old was sent home earlier this month after showing up to set with a temperature before testing positive for COVID-19, meaning that he had to undergo a fortnight in quarantine as per government guidelines.

Filming schedules on the production were quickly adapted to allow the team to instead work on scenes not involving Pattinson while he recovered, but according to the Daily Mail, he is now free of coronavirus and is back on set.

A source told the newspaper: "Today is the first day the main production unit has returned to filming and there seem to be no other hiccups at the moment."

The new movie, which sees Pattinson replace Ben Affleck as the caped crusader for a fresh reboot of the franchise, is due for release in October 2021.
