Coronation Street icons Barbara Knox and Thelma Barlow reunite at a flower show in Tatton.

Coronation Street legends Barbara Knox and Thelma Barlow have been pictured together at the RHS Flower Show in Tatton for an event to mark Knox's upcoming 90th birthday.

Knox - aka Corrie's Rita Tanner - is currently filming a special documentary to mark the milestone occasion, and as part of the programme she will be meeting up with some of her most memorable co-stars from her 50 years on the soap.

Barlow, 94, played Mavis Wilton from 1971 to 1997 and formed an iconic double act with Knox as Rita and Mavis successfully ran The Kabin together for many years until Mavis left Weatherfield following the death of her husband Derek (Peter Baldwin).

"She was the best partner I could ever have had," Knox told the Manchester Evening News at the event.

"We were great friends, we were so fond of each other, we went everywhere together. We really were good friends as well as acting together so well.

"We've kept in touch over the years and thank god she looks so well."

The documentary is due to air on ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
