Erin Austen reportedly returns to Coronation Street as Ryan's love interest Crystal Hyde.

Erin Austen is reportedly making a return to Coronation Street as Crystal Hyde, the former love interest of Ryan (Ryan Prescott).

The character debuted earlier this year and offered Ryan the chance to join her in Ibiza working as a DJ, but those plans fell through after he became the victim of an acid attack and she left alone.

Ryan still believed that he was in a relationship with Crystal, however, as Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) catfished him in an attempt to boost his confidence - although her deception was revealed after Ryan learned that Crystal was in a coma following an accident.

"Crystal's return will certainly liven up the cobbles," a source told The Sun.

"The clubbing beauty has her eye on Ryan but she'll also have Daisy in her sights once she learns how she was used to catfish Ryan. It's set to be explosive."

Austen is said to have already returned to filming and will be seen back on screen later this year.
