Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has revealed that she has been given her first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The 57-year-old, who has played Sally Metcalfe on the soap since 1986, uploaded a picture of her receiving a jab at a vaccination centre in Altrincham, near Manchester, on Wednesday.

"Thank you so much to our NHS," she wrote. "Had my vaccine and I'm so grateful. Thank you for everything you do.

"It's the best day I've had for ages... a huge thank you to everyone."

Dynevor, one of Corrie's most popular stars, previously battled and beat breast cancer in 2009.
