Coronation Street star Colson Smith reportedly joins the lineup for ITV's forthcoming competition series The Games.

Colson Smith, best known for playing Craig Tinker on Coronation Street, has reportedly signed up to take part in The Games.

The show - a reworking of an old Channel 4 format - will see celebrities compete in traditional Olympic events such as sprinting and the discus.

Mark Wright is thought to have already signed up and according to The Sun, he will be joined by 23-year old Corrie actor Smith, who has lost an astonishing 10 stone in weight over the last two years.

"Colson has worked so hard to get fit so when he was approached by The Games he couldn't turn them down," a source told the newspaper.

"He used running to lose ten stone in weight and now loves keeping fit.

"By taking part in The Games Colson will be able to push himself to the limit and try out different challenges."

The Games is slated to air on ITV later this year.
