Coronation Street stalwarts Bill Roache and Michael Le Vell reportedly sign new deals with the soap.

Bill Roache and Michael Le Vell are reportedly the latest two Coronation Street stars to sign new deals with the soap.

Now aged 89 - and due to turn 90 in three months' time - Roache has played Ken Barlow since Corrie started in December 1960 - a record-breaking 61 years.

Le Vell, 57, has also clocked up significant time on the soap, having now played Kevin Webster for more than 38 years.

A source told The Sun: "They're both hugely popular with fans so bosses were keen to sign them up for another year on the soap.

"The fact they've both taken the big-money deal is a huge relief to everyone - the show wouldn't be the same without them."

The news comes a day after it was reported that Sally Dynevor has also signed a new deal to remain on the cobbles as Sally Metcalfe.
