Simon McCoy moves to GB News breakfast as Alex Phillips gets own show
Alex Phillips is to present a new afternoon show on GB News in the latest shakeup of the channel's schedule.

Alex Phillips will present her own show from Monday as part of the latest tweak to the GB News schedule.

The former politician has been hosting the 3pm to 6pm afternoon slot with ex-BBC News stalwart Simon McCoy since the channel launched two months ago, although McCoy has since moved to co-host the breakfast show with Kirsty Gallacher and now that move has been made permanent.

As a result Phillips - one of the station's standout performers to date - has now been handed her own show, The Afternoon Agenda, which launches next week.

Airing from 4pm to 6pm on weekdays, the show is described as "good news and optimism amid challenging times delivered with warmth and humour where appropriate".

The change means that Gloria De Piero and Liam Halligan's lunchtime show has been extended by an hour and will run from 12pm to 4pm for the foreseeable.

Monday also marks the launch of a new morning show hosted by Patrick Christys and Mercy Muroki.
