Red button streams to be added to Sky Go

Sky announces plans to add video streams of its red-button content to Sky Go in the coming weeks.

Sky has confirmed that red button streams will become available through the Sky Go app in the coming weeks.

The broadcaster uses the red button to provide access to coverage of additional sporting fixtures, including extra games in the EFL and Nations League and alternative camera feeds of golfing events such as The Masters.

Up until now viewers on Sky Go have only been able to stream feeds of the main TV channels but as part of an upcoming update the service will be expanded to include streams offered behind the red button.

The news means that for busy midweek rounds of Championship action, for example, Sky Go users will be able to access live coverage of up to 10 additional games through their tablet or smart phones.

Sky is also planning to roll out its 'Sky Sports Recap' feature to Sky Go, allowing viewers to watch key moments from a game at any point during the live broadcast.
