ITV adjusts its schedules following the sudden death of Paul O'Grady on Tuesday night at the age of 67.

ITV has adjusted its schedules in response to the death of beloved presenter Paul O'Grady on Tuesday night.

In the early hours of this morning the star's partner Andre Portasio announced that O'Grady had died "unexpectedly but peacefully" at the age of 67.

Tonight ITV1 will rebroadcast Paul O'Grady's For the Love of Dogs: A Royal Special, featuring Queen consort Camilla, in the 5pm hour in place of a repeat of The Chase.

A special tribute programme called For the Love Of Paul O'Grady will follow on Easter Sunday, April 9, combining archive footage and interviews with tributes from those closest to him.

"We are fortunate to have had a long association with Paul at ITV," said ITV's entertainment chief Kevin Lygo.

"He was a huge, inimitable talent, delighting our viewers through his comedy and entertainment with a warmth, humour and joy that audiences of all generations related to and connected with.

"He had a profound passion for animals too, which resonated with so many viewers, and For The Love of Dogs remains one of our best-loved series, and a really special programme for so many.

"All those who worked with Paul are shocked and deeply saddened at his passing and the thoughts of everyone at ITV are with Paul's loved ones."

The broadcaster has also confirmed that the final series of For The Love of Dogs filmed before his death will air as planned starting on Thursday, April 13.
