Andrew Neil "still deciding" whether to return to GB News

A report claims that Andrew Neil may not return to GB News after an extended summer break.

GB News chairman Andrew Neil is still unsure whether he will return to the channel after his summer break, a report in The Guardian has alleged.

The veteran broadcaster helped launch the station in mid-June and presented his eponymous weekday night show for two weeks before heading off on an extended holiday and handing over the reins to Colin Brazier.

As a result, Brazier has now hosted more than eight weeks of Andrew Neil compared to Neil's fortnight at the helm, although the channel has said that he is expected back on air at the start of September.

According to The Guardian, however, the 72-year-old is still debating whether to return to the channel, which has undergone numerous personnel changes in front of and behind the cameras over its 10 weeks on air.

The left-leaning newspaper alleges that Neil is frustrated that in his absence, former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has been given his own weekday show in the slot immediately before Neil's show airs.

Neil did appear as a special guest on Farage's show last week, however, and has continued to back the channel publicly on his Twitter account.

With parliament returning in the second week of September, GB News intends to launch a new schedule featuring three new political shows and other changes to the on-air talent lineup.
