Team GB's Chris Hoy progresses to the semi-finals of the men's Keirin.

Team GB's Sir Chris Hoy has progressed to the semi-finals of the men's Keirin.

Hoy was competing in the opening heat of the discipline and he positioned himself in the middle of the pack for the first half of the race.

He made his move with just over two laps remaining to take the lead and he powered to victory ahead of New Zealand's Simon van Velthooven.

The semi-finals will take place this afternoon.
