South Africa chased down a modest total of 94 in less than 13 overs to win their opening World Twenty20 fixture and eliminate opponents Zimbabwe.
The minnows earlier struggled against the Proteas' bowling attack as Jacques Kallis and Morne Morkel restricted them to less than three figures.
Only Craig Ervine [37] provided any resistance as Kallis [4-15] skittled the lower order after Morkel [2-16] had caused problems at the top of the innings.
Richard Levi hit an unbeaten half-century off just 44 balls in reply, while the ever consistent Hashim Amla contributed a run-a-ball 32 as South Africa recorded a convincing 10-wicket win.
The result means both South Africa and hosts Sri Lanka are safely through to the quarter-finals, with the two sides meeting on Saturday to decide who tops the group.
