An unbeaten knock of 95 runs from AB de Villiers helps South Africa overcome the challenge of Pakistan in their one-day international.

South Africa claimed a six-wicket victory over Pakistan this afternoon to wrap up the one-day international series between the two nations 3-2.

Kamran Akmal topscored with 48 runs for Pakistan, who could only muster 205 runs before they were bowled out by the hosts with five balls of their allotted 50 overs to spare.

Opening batsman Hashim Amla (22), Colin Ingram (3) and Quinton de Kock (15) were all removed relatively cheaply by the Pakistan bowling attack, but that brought AB de Villiers to the crease.

He proceeded to produce an unbeaten knock of 95 from 111 deliveries to help his nation beyond the victory target in the 44th over.

The result has seen South Africa extend their lead at the top of the one-day international rankings.
