Lancashire claim County Championship after 77-year wait

Lancashire beat Somerset to become County Championship winners for the first time since 1934.

Lancashire have won the County Championship after beating Somerset by eight wickets and ending their 77-year wait for the title.

The visitors reached a target of 211 with five overs left of the day to seal the win after hearing Warwickshire and Hampshire had drawn in their match.

Steven Moore and Paul Horton scored a combined 125 runs to get Lancs off to a positive start.

Karl Brown and Steven Croft saw out the victory for Lancashire, who last won the County Championship in 1934.
