Russia win gold in men's K2, GB get bronze

Russia win gold in the men's double 200m kayak sprint, while Great Britain win bronze.

Russians Yury Postrigay and Alexander Dyachenko have taken a comprehensive victory in the men's pair 200m kayak sprint, while Great Britain impressively finished third.

GB pair Liam Heath and Jon Schofield started well and led over the first 50m.

Russia came back though, and took a commanding lead.

It looked as though Britain might hang on for silver, but Raman Piatrushenka and Vadzim Makhneu finished well for Belarus to pip them to second.

The winners finished in a very quick 33.507s, almost a second ahead of the British pair.

The victory takes Russia to 16 gold medals, 10 behind Great Britain, with Team GB taking their overall medal haul to 59.
