Kid Galahad extends unbeaten record

British super-bantamweight Kid Galahad defeats Adeilson Dos Santos on points to win the IBF youth title in Sheffield.

British super-bantamweight Kid Galahad has extended his unbeaten professional record with a points win over Adeilson Dos Santos to win the IBF youth title.

Galahad, who also possesses the Commonwealth and European belts, had his Brazilian opponent on the canvas on two occasions as he eased to a unanimous decision by scores of 119-107, 120-105 and 117-109 respectively.

The 24-year-old started the bout at the Ponds Forge Arena in Sheffield on the front foot, flooring Dos Santos with a right hand seconds before the bell at the end of the first round.

Galahad's dominance continued against the previously-undefeated South American, who needed to beat the count for a second time in the 10th after another right hand.

The British fighter could not force a late stoppage, but nevertheless moved a step closer to a potential world title opportunity in 2015.
