Brian Rose wins Carson Jones rematch on points

British light-middleweight Brian Rose gains revenge for his controversial February stoppage by winning his rematch with Carson Jones in Hull.

Brian Rose has won his rematch with Carson Jones with a points victory at Craven Park.

Rose, who lost in a controversial first bout between the pair in February, looked to be in trouble in the second round as Jones unloaded several unanswered punches, which led to Rose sustaining cuts around his nose.

Jones struggled to apply concerted pressure to his opponent, who largely relied on his jab while defending against flurries of attacking punches.

With Rose apparently building a big lead on the judges' scorecards, Jones's trainer Abel Sanchez warned his charge that he needed a knockout to win.

However, Rose was able to hold off Jones in the 12th round, to get his professional career back on track.
