Team GB's Andrew Selby loses to Robeisy Ramirez of Cuba in the men's fly quarter-finals.

Robeisy Ramirez of Cuba has beaten Team GB's Andrew Selby in the men's fly quarter-finals.

The Cuban came out of the blocks quickly, landing a few good head shots inside the opening minute but Selby fought back with a few decent counter punches. The round, however, went to the Cuban 5-4.

Ramirez defended well in the second round as Selby was forced to try to take the initiative and the Cuban landed some strong shots on the counter inside the final minute.

The second round went strongly in favour of the Cuban 7-3, leaving Selby with a 12-7 deficit to overturn in the third.

It turned out to be too much of an advantage for Ramirez, Selby unable to do enough in the final round to take the win and it was the Cuban who advanced to the semi-finals with a 16-11 win.
