Result: Denis Berinchyk bullies Jeff Horn to reach semi-final

Ukraine's Denis Berinchyk prevails over Australia's Jeff Horn to secure his passage into the last four of the Olympics.

Ukraine's Denis Berinchyk has progressed to the semi-finals of the Olympic light welterweight division with a dominant performance against Australia's Jeff Horn.

Berinchyk looked dangerous from the opening bell and underlined his superiority with a booming left hand that sent the Australian backpedalling.

The Ukrainian continued to dominate proceedings in the second round as Horn had no answer to Berinchyk's power.

Horn gave his all in the final round, and asked some questions of the Ukrainian's resolve.

However, he came up well short and dropped a 21-13 verdict.
