Result: Great Britain's Stephen McGuire reaches boccia quarter-finals

Great Britain's Stephen McGuire defeats Slovakia's Martin Streharsk 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the mixed individual BC4 boccia event.

Great Britain's Stephen McGuire will contest for a place in the mixed individual BC4 semi-finals after reaching the quarter-final stage courtesy of a 6-1 win over Martin Streharsk of Slovakia.

The British hopeful started off well at the ExCel Arena and managed to clinch some vital early ends to take a substantial lead.

While Streharsk managed to get one end on the board, the Slovakian's accuracy when trying to close in on the jack failed him on a number of occasions.

Meanwhile, Peter McGuire has also booked a place in the quarter-finals after beating Marco Dispaltro of Canada 4-3.
