Andrew Pozzi, Lawrence Clarke fail to qualify for men's 110m hurdles final

Great Britain's Andrew Pozzi and Lawrence Clarke both fail to qualify for the men's 110m hurdles final at the Olympic Games.

Great Britain's Andrew Pozzi and Lawrence Clarke have both failed to progress through their semi-final races in the men's 110m hurdles.

Pozzi was tipped to have an outside chance of a medal in Rio de Janeiro while Clarke finished fourth in London in 2012, but neither Team GB representative came close to reaching the final.

In the first semi-final, Pozzi clattered numerous hurdles before eventually finishing in sixth place but he was later disqualified.

Ten minutes later, Clarke went in the second semi but in a fast-paced race where the majority of the field all recorded quicker times than third place in the first heat, the British runner could only finish in sixth.
