France's Christophe Lemaitre wins the second heat of the men's 200m.

French sprinter Christophe Lemaitre moved into the semi-finals of the men's 200m by winning the second heat of the afternoon.

The 22-year-old, regarded as one of the favourites to claim a medal in this event, moved through the field during the opening 100m.

With 60m remaining, he edged ahead of his rivals and eventually crossed the line in a time of 20.34s.

Anaso Jobodwana took second spot, while the final qualifying place went to Canada's Aaron Brown.
