Result: Minnesota Vikings hold on to beat Kansas City Chiefs

Minnesota Vikings manage to hold on in the second half as they win 16-10 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Minnesota Vikings managed to hold off a late Kansas City Chiefs charge to win 16-10 at home in their NFL clash this evening.

Minnesota started strongly but failed to get any points off their first drive, with Teddy Bridgewater being picked off in the endzone by Kansas City safety Ron Parker.

However, on their next possession they would score but only with a field goal as Blair Walsh split the uprights after their drive stalled in Chiefs territory.

In the second quarter, Bridgewater found his own receiver in the endzone to put the Vikings up 10-0 as Kyle Rudolph collected the ball for a four-yard touchdown.

The Vikings continued to put up the points in the second half, stopping the Chiefs in midfield before Walsh added another three points to the scoreline from 45 yards out.

Kansas City finally produced some offence midway through the third quarter but Andy Reid decided to go for it on fourth down and Minnesota stood tall in the redzone.

The Chiefs would not be shut out today though, as Carlos Santos scored a field goal in the fourth quarter and that sparked his team into life as rookie Marcus Peters picked off Bridgewater as momentum began to swing.

Alex Smith then finally got in on the action, finding Albert Wilson on a wide receiver screen for the 42-yard touchdown to make it a three-point game.

That momentum would not continue, however, as Smith failed to convert another fourth down and the Vikings recovered the ball in midfield with two minutes remaining.

The Chiefs drop their fifth game in a row and are at 1-5 in the AFC West, while the Vikings go to 3-2 on the season.
