Late Steven Hauschka field goal denies Dallas Cowboys first win in five

The Seattle Seahawks deny the Dallas Cowboys a first victory in five attempts via a late Steven Hauschka field goal to nick a 13-12 win in Texas.

Steven Hauschka registered a last-minute field goal as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Dallas Cowboys 13-12 in Texas to inflict a fifth successive defeat on the hosts this morning.

Both sides played out a cagey first quarter, with Dan Bailey cancelling out Hauschka's field goal with 48 seconds on the clock as the two outfits boasted three points apiece ahead of the second.

Things took a turn for the worse for Dallas - without a win since September 20 - when Luke Willson latched on to Russell Wilson's 22-yard pass as Seattle moved 10-3 ahead.

The Cowboys, and in particular Bailey, continued to chip away at that seven-point deficit, with the kicker adding two more three-point scores to reduce the gap to just one midway through the third quarter.

Thirty seconds into the final quarter, Dallas moved 12-10 ahead when a 27-yard field goal from Bailey opened up the prospect of the hosts stopping the rot of a four-match losing streak.

However, Hauschka snuffed out the Cowboys' bid when his 24-yard strike denied them victory with 70 seconds left on the clock.
