Great Britain miss out on medal at European Championships

Great Britain miss out on a medal in both the men's and women's team events at the European Championships in Bath.

Samantha Murray and Mhairi Spence have failed in their attempt to claim a medal in the team event at the European Championships.

The British duo had looked on course for gold after outperforming their rivals in both the fencing and swimming disciplines, but a number of mistakes in the show jumping resulted in the pair eventually ending the competition in fourth spot.

Sam Curry and James Myatt, who were Great Britain's representatives in the men's event, also finished in fourth place.

The individual competition will take place over the weekend, with eight places in both the men's and women's events being made available for next year's Olympic Games.
