Switzerland's Alexei Strasser not happy with fourth place

Switzerland's Alexei Strasser admits his disappointment after he and beach volleyball partner Gabriel Kissling finished fourth at the European Games in Baku.

Swiss beach volleyball ace Alexei Strasser has admitted that finishing fourth offers little consolation to him after losing his bronze medal match at the European Games in Baku.

Strasser and partner Gabriel Kissling went down to Czech Republic duo Jan Hadrava and Premysl Kubala 2-0 to deny Switzerland.

"Maybe there were too many emotions. It is a disappointment. Maybe we are not ready for a game like this," a dejected Strasser told reporters.

"In a bronze medal match, you have to attack 100% in every element of volleyball - how our opponents did. We started to play in the second set.

"There is nothing to appreciate about a fourth place."

Strasser's regular partner was injured.
