German Greco-Roman wrestler Frank Staebler expresses his delight at making history by winning his country's first ever European Games medal in Baku.

Germany's Frank Staebler has expressed his delight at making history by winning his country's first ever European Games medal.

The Greco-Roman wrestler secured a bronze in the 71kg category after succumbing to defeat against Hungary's Balint Korpasi in their semi-final in Baku.

Staebler told reporters: "I am totally happy. No wishes left, all great. It is amazing that I could write history today with winning a medal in the first European Games."

The 71kg category gold medal was won by Azerbaijan's Rasul Chunayev.
