Italy's Carolina Kostner "honoured" to compete in Sochi

Carolina Kostner says that she is "honoured" to have represented Italy at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

Italy's Carolina Kostner has said that she is pleased to have finished third in the women's figure skating at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Adelina Sotnikova of Russia won gold, while Kim Yuna clinched silver in the event in Sochi on Thursday.

"I have nothing left," the Japan Times quotes the 27-year-old as saying. "I am exhausted.

"On the ice it was just amazing. Amazing to be here and honoured to be here.

"It was a dream to skate a dream competition and it happened to be at the Olympic Games."

Italy have won eight medals in Sochi so far.
