Marcel Hirscher 'under no pressure'

Marcel Hirscher insists that he feels no pressure to win the men's slalom at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Austrian alpine ski racer Marcel Hirscher has said that he is determined to win the men's slalom at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

However, the 24-year-old, who finished fourth in the giant slalom in Sochi on Wednesday, insists that he is under no pressure to clinch gold in the event.

"The first race is always the most difficult at big events," AFP quotes him as saying. "I feel free.

"A lot can always happen in the slalom, so I'll try everything and take as many risks as possible, with the knowledge that it could go wrong.

"But really I'm not feeling that much pressure at the moment. I feel lighter than two days ago."

Austria have won 12 medals in Sochi so far.
