Victoria Azarenka is into the second round of Wimbledon with a 6-3 7-5 win over Mirjana Lucic-Baroni.

Victoria Azarenka has made it through to the second round of Wimbledon with a straight-sets win over Mirjana Lucic-Baroni.

Having the spent the last five months on the sidelines recovering from a foot injury, the eighth seed started the opening set brightly before coming through 6-3.

Lucic-Baroni had the chance to serve for the second after showing more resistance, but Azarenka fought back to seal the contest 6-3 7-5.

The Belarusian will now face Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski for a spot in the third round.
